At curbAGE we believe that the key to younger-looking skin is dependent on the health of your skin barrier. Unfortunately, the skin barrier is the layer of skin that is often neglected and mistreated by the overuse of harsh skincare products and treatments. Every sign of aging can be traced back to a compromised skin barrier … lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, uneven skin tone, dull skin, red/irritated skin, and even unwanted pigmentation. All of these are signs of a damaged skin barrier. The main cause of a compromised skin barrier is “LEAKY SKIN” and “LEAKY SKIN” is caused by “LOST LIPIDS”. Let us explain...

“LEAKY SKIN”

Your skin barrier is responsible for preventing TEWL, or TransEpidermal Water Loss. This is when the water from the underlying layers of the skin LEAKS OUT through the skin’s top layer, your skin barrier. This is what causes dehydrated skin, or what curbAGE likes to call “LEAKY SKIN”. And dehydrated skin results in AGED SKIN. Why does “LEAKY SKIN” happen? Because of “LOST LIPIDS”.
